Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the current How to Play rules covering squad building, formations, substitutes, scoring and leagues.
Each Market XI squad contains 16 assets in total. You start 11, keep 3 substitutes and 2 reserves. The full squad is made up of 5 stocks, 5 forex assets, 5 crypto assets and 1 ETF.
Your formation decides which 11 assets start each market week. The formation stays fixed during that week, so substitutions must fit the same asset type rules.
The game checks your substitutes in bench order. It can only use a substitute of the same asset type, and the negative starter is replaced only if a matching substitute exists.
Yes. A stock starter can only be replaced by a stock substitute, a crypto starter only by a crypto substitute, and so on. If there is no matching substitute, the starter stays in the team.
No more than three automatic substitutions can happen in a single market week. Sub 1 is checked first, then Sub 2, then Sub 3.
Captain Insurance means that if your captain finishes below zero, your vice-captain takes over. That keeps your captain bonus protected when the original captain has a poor week.
Points use each asset's weekly percentage price movement, capped at +15.00 and -15.00 points before captaincy.
Global leagues let you compete against the whole Market XI community, while private leagues let you play against friends, family or colleagues with a league code.
No. Market XI is a fantasy competition and does not require real investing.
Squad changes are available until the relevant gameweek deadline.
